Manchester United FC have completed the signing of 24-year old Ander Hererra from Spanish outfit, Athletic Bilbao.
The deal hit a dead end yesterday, Wednesday June 25, when the Spanish club rejected Man United's £29million bid but the player had to pay force the deal through by paying his own buy out clause.
The deal became imminent after Hererra underwent a successful medical at the Manchester medical facility yesterday.
A statement released by the Spanish club reads:
"The Football League has certified Athletic Club that player Ander Herrera Agüera has fulfilled the requirements of the applicable regulations valid for unilateral termination of the employment contract that bound him to our club, by depositing today the amount of compensation established in the contract.
"The Athletic Club thanks Ander Herrera for his dedication during the three seasons he has enjoyed at the club and wishes him the best in his future sports projects."The versatile midfielder thus described his moved to Manchester United FC as a dream come true and can't wait to pull the famous red shirt.
"Signing for Manchester United is a dream come true, I have played at Old Trafford for Athletic Club in the Europa League and it was one of the highlights of my career so far.
"I have joined United to do all I can to help the team reach the club's objectives. Having arrived on Tuesday, I'm excited to now be living in Manchester and I can't wait for my first game in United's famous red shirt," said Herrera.
Meanwhile, we can reveal that 18-year Luke Shaw, a long term target of Manchester United is due to have a medical with the club tonight, Thursday June 26, ahead of his £34million switch from Southampton FC.
The former English Champions have been courting the talented left back defender for a long while now and a deal looks set to be completed in the coming days.

If the deal goes through, Luke Shaw will be handed a massive £160,000-a-week deal which will make him the highest paid teenager in world football after seeing off competition from Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool FC.
