Photo: Man Stabs Childhood Friend To Death For Correcting Him

A 25-year old lottery agent, Olawale Salau, has been stabbed to death by his childhood friend, Kamoru Kushimo.

According to Punch, the incident happened on Wednesday, last week on Alafia Street, in the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos State.

Punch learnt that the suspect had been released on bail through the efforts of the late Salau, after he was detained for attacking someone in the neighbourhood.

It was gathered that the deceased had after the bail been talking to his jobless friend to change his aggressive behaviour.

A resident, Sola Adebambo (not real name), said Kushimo became angry and accused the deceased of reporting him to people who had been rebuking him.

He said the suspect began insulting the deceased and threatened to end their friendship.

He said:

“In the afternoon of that fateful day, he verbally assaulted him for hours while we were all drinking at the club. Salau did not answer him and people asked Kushimo to stop, but he refused. Then he said he wanted their friendship to end.

“Salau told him that if that was what he wanted, he was satisfied with the decision. But we all became surprised as Kushimo said he wanted to fight with him.

“While we were all trying to settle the quarrel, Kushimo grabbed a bottle and smashed it against the wall. The splinters fell on me and injured another friend of ours. But Salau held him from using the bottle. I tried separating them.”

They reportedly went their separate ways after some community leaders intervened. However, unknown to Salau, his friend had gone to waylay him in the dark, armed with a knife.

The resident who spoke to Punch Metro said he had gone to attend to the injured friend identified as Flash, when he was returning to the street and saw the suspect racing towards him.

“I didn’t know he had stabbed Salau in the chest and armpit with the knife. But I ran after him. He wanted to jump the fence of a house into the next street, but I grabbed him.

“He pleaded with me to release him, but I told him he was going nowhere. It was then I saw Salau screaming that he had been stabbed.

“I handed Kushimo over to an elderly man and tried to help Salau up. But he was down and nobody even came near because it was dark.”

The victim’s boss, Taofeek Olaoye, said the 25-year-old could not make it as he died before he could get medical help.

He said:

“I was about going to bed when I received a call that Salau had been injured. I didn’t know what exactly transpired between him and his friend. When I got there, I carried him into the car, as life was gradually ebbing out of him. We took him to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital at Ikeja, where he was confirmed dead.

“It was an unfortunate incident because we had just closed from work when all this happened. He was a very hardworking boy, who had been with me for about eight years.”

Our correspondent observed that the street was still tense a day after the incident, as residents discussed in hush tones.

Thick blood stains could still be seen at the frontage of the house where the deceased reportedly slumped.

Some pieces of furniture and electronic gadgets were burnt beside the blood spot. It was learnt that angry residents brought out the property of the suspect and vandalised them.

The deceased’s girlfriend, Funmilayo Egunbiyi, said she and Salau were planning their wedding when he was killed.

She said:

“I feel so terrible about this loss. He was my confidante. I want justice for him. Also, I am aware there was a third person who instigated the fight. The police should arrest him.”

The Chairman of the Community Development Area and the traditional ruler of the area said they could not comment because they had already gone to bed when Salau was killed.

Punch Metro, however, learnt that the matter was reported at the Dopemu Police Division in Agege, and the suspect was in police custody.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu confirmed the incident. He added that the corpse of the deceased had been taken to a morgue.

“It involved two friends who were apparently fighting and one stabbed the other to death. The suspect is in police custody while the remains of Salau have been taken to the morgue,” he said.

According to Metro, this photo was uploaded onto a Facebook page with a caption alleging the man had pulled over in a car before jumping over a hedge naked.

The property is home to students at the University of Kent. The incident was reported to the police.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said:

"Kent Police received a report at 2.30pm of a man indecently exposing himself in the Park Wood area of Canterbury on Friday November 7.

"The incident is reported to have occurred at 12pm.

"Officers are currently making enquiries."

Update: 47 Students Died, 97 Injured In Today's Secondary School Bomb Blast | Graphic Photos

It has been confirmed that 47 pupils of the Government Science Technical College, Potiskum, Yobe state, lost their lives to the bomb blast which hit the school this morning during Assembly.

17-year-old  Musa Ibrahim Yahaya, a student at the school who was being treated at the hospital for head wounds told AP:

"We were waiting for the principal to address us, around 7:30 a.m., when we heard a deafening sound and I was blown off my feet, people started screaming and running, I saw blood all over my body."

Breaking: At Least 20 Students Killed As Fresh Bomb Blast Rocks Secondary School In Yobe

While the students were gathered this morning for their usual morning Assembly, a bomb went off at the Senior Science Secondary School Potiskum, Yobe state, killing many students.

According to our sources, the bomber is suspected to be a student of the school who was also gathered in the Assembly.

Police Arrest Two Boys For Homosexual Act After They Were Caught Red-handed

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two teenage boys, Gideon Harrison and Ifeanyi Ezeorji, for allegedly having sex with each other in the Ikotun area of Lagos.

According to Punch, the boys caught in the act are Harrison, 19, and Ezeorji is just 14. It was also gathered that the two boys were arrested on October 23 by the Ikotun Police Division. According to the police, Harrison and Ezeorji had sex with each other through the anus, an act known as sodomy.

Punch learnt that the complainant, one Toheeb Adekunle, who stays on Muka Street, Ijegun Road and works inside the Ikotun Motor Park, caught the two boys in the act, and reported the matter to the police. Adekunle was said to have told the police that Harrison had the habit of sleeping with boys in the area.

When our correspondent visited the area on Friday, a police source said the two boys had been taken to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Yaba, adding that they would be charged to court soon.

At Ezeorji’s family apartment on Oladunjoye Street, Ikotun, his mother, Mrs. Chinyere Ezeorji, told Punch Metro that her son was a responsible boy who would never indulge in such an act. She added that he is still a virgin.

She said:

“My son is just 14 years old. He does not do such things. He is not even mature yet. He takes his bath outside, some times in the presence of his sisters to tell you that he is young. His father had died in September this year, and we have yet to bury him. The family is still grieving him. All I know is that there is no truth in the allegation.

“I don’t know about the other man. I have not even met him. On the day of the alleged incident, my son had strolled to the motor park, and there was a street fight. My son then told me later on that he was simply watching the fight, and he had been arrested by the police.”

When our correspondent visited Adekunle’s house address on Ijegun Road, his neighbours said he was no longer living in the place as he had moved to an unknown place in Ikotun. All efforts to also locate Harrison’s house or his family for comment were unsuccessful as of the time of this report.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, while confirming the arrest of the boys, said the suspects had also been charged to court.

He said:

“Yes, they were arrested by the Ikotun Police Division, and they have been charged to court. In law, this offence is called sodomy, and it carries with it about seven to 14 years imprisonment if found guilty, going by an Act of the National Assembly.

“You know, it is even against culture and religion. The Christian, Islamic and even the traditional religions condemn this in its entirety. So, the case has been taken to court.”

The leader of Bahamas Faith Ministries, Dr Myles Munroe, and his wife Ruth have been killed in a plane crash in Grand Bahama.

The crash took place this afternoon and killed all nine people on board the private jet. The plane reportedly struck a crane at the Grand Bahama Ship Yard, exploding on impact and crashing into the ground near a junkyard area.

The Department of Civil Aviation reported that the plane was a Lear 36 executive jet which departed the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) for the Grand Bahama International Airport.

The plane left LPIA at 4.07pm with nine people on board and crashed while making an approach for landing at Grand Bahama International Airport at 5.10pm, the Department of Civil Aviation said.

A police on source on the island previously said two were feared dead. However, police sources later confirmed that all those on board had been killed.

The police source also said it was believed the group was heading to a conference hosted by Pastor Munroe.

The last photo of Dr. Myles Munroe taken before the jet crashed, killing all nine on board.

The identities of the other people on board have not yet been confirmed.

The statement said while the department was advised of fatalities, it was awaiting confirmation from police on if there were any survivors.

The Grand Bahama Airport Company Crash Fire Rescue Department responded to the incident, and the Police and Bahamas Air Sea Rescue (BASRA) are presently on the scene.

The department said a full scale investigation will start tomorrow morning at daylight, which will include the Department of Civil Aviation Aircraft Accident Investigation Prevention Unit.

This is a shocking story of a Kenyan student who revealed how she infected a total of 324 men with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

According to reports, the girl who attends Kabarak University in Nakuru, Kenya, got the HIV virus from a man she met in a party and as a revenge, the 19-year-old unidentified girl allegedly plans to infect up to 2,000 men with the fearful virus.

The girl allegedly contacted Kenyan Scandals on Facebook and claimed she had something to confess.

After she was assured her identity was going to be protected (the Kenyan Daily Post, however, published a picture from her Facebook profile along with the article) she wrote:

“Sep 22nd 2013 is a day I”ll never forget, we went clubbing in town and got drunk with some senior students then went back hostels for party round 2″.

She then explained that when she woke up, the morning after, she realised a boy called Javan had had sex with her while she was drunk.

“I only asked if he used a condom and he said yes, however when taking bath I noticed sperms down there, I wanted to commit suicide, I feared getting pregnant and HIV.”

When she discovered she was HIV positive, the girl confronted Javan who insisted he was clean.

“I was so depressed and took alcohol to die, I even bought poison, the pain was just unbearable how was I gone face the world, I let my parents down, I gave up on the world and just wanted to end my life. My future had been ruined, somehow someone had to pay,” the girl said.

“I accepted my fate and promised to make all men I come across suffer, I know I’m attractive and men both married and unmarried chase me left right and center.

“I buried the good girl in me and became the bad girl, my goal was to infect as many as possible,” she explained.

The girl then confessed she had already infected 324 men, 156 of which are students at the Kabarak University where she studies, the rest are married men, lecturers, lawyers, celebrities and politicians.

“Not a day passes without me having sex, mostly 4 people per day,” she continued in her confession. 

“Your day is coming, you men destroyed my life and I will make you and your people pay for it.”

According to eyewitnesses, the driver, who was on a high speed, zoomed off after hitting her and it is also understood that the accident happened all thanks to no speed bumps on the campus roads.

Afoke, who made her last tweet barely 10 hours before the accident, died on the spot. Her remains has since been deposited in a mortuary. Sadly, she also had her project defence yesterday.

A bomb explosion occurred at the early hours of today, November 7th, at a First Bank building located in Azare, Bauchi state.

Horror: Man Caught Eating His Girlfriend's Dead Body In A Hotel Room | Photo

Meet 34-year-old Matthew Williams, the man who was caught allegedly eating the face and eyes of his 22-year-old dead girlfriend at the Sirhowy Amrs Hotel in South Wales.

The hotel staff that caught him raised an alarm before the police arrived to discover the female victim laying unconscious on the floor with shocking facial injuries.

Officers then tackled Williams  who was reportedly released from prison just two weeks ago with a high voltage Taser, knocking him to the floor.Moments later, he became unresponsive and died, despite efforts to save him.The woman also died from her injuries...

Jill Edwards, who lives near the hotel, said:

"This animal was eating this girl to death. He murdered her so police stopped him - good on them.Security said they told him no girls in his room and he didn't answer, when they opened his door he was eating her face."

He was staying at the hotel, which operated as a bail hostel, and had taken his victim back there for a drink when the attack unfolded.

Lyn Beasley, who lives close to the hotel, said:

     "He went Hannibal Lecter on the woman, he gouged her eyeball out, ate them and ate and half her face.He had just been released from prison and was high on coke."

Police say his victim knew him and it wasn't a first meeting. He had just served half a five-year prison sentence for a violent attack on his partner who lives nearby.

Wickedness: Man Pays Okada Rider N5,000 To Kill His Own Baby By Throwing Her Inside Lagos Lagoon

A prosecution witness, Inspector Simeon Kunamon, in the ongoing trial of the murder of a three-week-old baby, Princess Happiness Moses, yesterday told a Lagos High Court sitting at Igbosere how a motorcycle rider, popularly known as Okada, Ilaya Peters, was paid N5,000 to murder the baby.

As reported by Vanguard, Kunamon, who was led in evidence by the state prosecuting counsel, Ebere Agu, testified that the baby’s father, Moses Joseph, who is attached to Nigerian Navy, Amuwo Odofin, paid the defendant and others at large the said sum to forcibly take the baby from her mother, which he threw into the lagoon.

The witness, who gave testimony before Justice Raliatu Adebiyi, told the judge how the baby was forcibly taken from her mother, Gloria Yusuf, at about 1a.m. at her residence at 8, Odofin Close, Ajegunle, and thrown into the lagoon.

Kunamon also told the court that Moses organised some thugs on February 2, 2012, to steal the baby from the mother and deliver to him at Liverpool, where she was thrown into the lagoon in a peak milk cartoon, adding that the deceased baby’s body could not be recovered.

According to him, trouble started when Gloria Yusuf, mother of the baby told Moses, her lover of one year, that she was pregnant, and that Moses asked her to terminate the pregnancy, which she refused.

This, according to him, made her to pack out of the house and rented an apartment at Ajegunle, until she gave birth on January 13, 2012, to a baby girl she named Princess Happiness Moses.

He said the baby was killed on February 2, 2012, at about 1a.m., four weeks after the father of the baby paid her a visit.

The defendant had earlier been arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and murder preferred against him by Lagos State.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him as Justice Adebiyi adjourned the matter to February 18, 2015.

"We're actually looking into changing my name," his wife said. "Changing the kids' names, taking my husband's name off the house, paying off our cars. Essentially deleting him from our lives, but for safety reasons. We still love each other."

O'Neill also described how he had instructed his wife in how to protect their children, and jep a 'blot bag' ready in case they had to flee at any time.

46-year-old Sam Ogunnoiki, who visited Nigeria – 2,000 miles away from the nearest country with the disease in Africa – but faces a three-week quarantine in UK.

According to UK Metro, he was told by bosses at Stout Security Ltd that he needs to get the all-clear from a British doctor before he can go back to work.

The letter said:

"Several members of staff have now voiced their concerns about the possibility of your carrying the Ebola".

He is on a zero-hours contract so now worries about not being paid.

He said:

"Nigeria does not have Ebola but he said I have to be cleared. There is this stigma surrounding me now – it’s just ignorance and a nightmare because I cannot work.

"I’m a British citizen. There is no justification for this at all."

Mr Mannell defended his position saying:

"I did send Sam a letter saying anyone returning from any African countries for safety reasons cannot work for three weeks afterwards.

"I know Nigeria is Ebola-free but I don’t know where he’s travelled. My problem is that Pendennis [shipyard], which I have a contract with, sent me an email saying they cannot have anyone working there that’s been in contact with Sam.

Pendennis Shipyard denied imposing a ban on Sam.

A spokesman said:

"This really seems like an issue between Stout and their employee. We haven’t made a decision or taken any action that implies a problem at all.

"This is purely between Stout and their employee. Stout are a subcontractor for us and other people on the docks. This has nothing to do with us."

The letter in full:

"I have spoken to you and expressed my very deep concerns about your trip to Nigeria.

"Several members of staff have now voiced their concerns about the possibility of your carrying the Ebola virus back with you and have made it very clear that they are extremely reluctant to work with you on your return.

"One member of staff has even written a clear and concise letter stating the concerns of your work colleagues.

"In this case I have to support their concerns especially as I have already voiced them personally to you.

"In order to allay any fears that you are a carrier for this deadly virus I feel I cannot allow you to return to work until you have been back in the United Kingdom for three weeks, which is the incubation period.

"I must also request that you visit your doctor on your return and get a clean bill of health before you can start work with us.

"I am very sorry about this Sam but everyone works in close proximity together and I have to put the concerns of the majority first."

Horror: Police Man Crushes His Wife's Legs, Stabs Their Baby To Death Over N2,000 [Photo]

Still in rage, the policeman turned the knife on himself in an attempt to take his own life.

Punch, however, learnt that Lucky and his wife survived but both were in critical conditions.

Punch learnt that the incident occurred at the family’s rented apartment in Kale Close, Mafoluku, Oshodi last week.

Our correspondent gathered that four days prior to the incident, 34-year-old Lucky, who hails from Sabon Gida Ora, Edo State, had a quarrel with his wife, Dupe over N2,000, after which he reportedly sent her packing.

The policeman, who is attached to the Makinde Police Division, Oshodi, Lagos had also ‘seized’ their only child from Dupe as a means of ‘punishing’ her.

PUNCH Metro learnt that around 8pm on the day of the attack, Dupe, a 30-year-old indigene of Abeokuta, Ogun State, was heading for her mother’s house in Mushin unknown to her that Lucky was waiting in a bus to attack her.

It was learnt that on getting to Olorunshogo junction, Lucky pursued his wife with the bus, crushing her legs in the process.

Leaving her for dead, Lucky was said to have fled the scene while passersby initially thought the attack was random.

However, after Dupe was rushed to a nearby hospital on same evening for treatment and had regained consciousness the following morning, she explained that the man who drove the bus which crushed her legs was her own husband.

Unknown to Dupe, after her husband attacked her, he reportedly drove back to their apartment where he stabbed their child, David, in the belly, before fleeing the residence.

Our correspondent learnt that Lucky’s co-tenants and Dupe’s relatives who discovered the baby’s corpse on Friday morning, reported the incident at the Akinpelu Police Division. It was also gathered that the knife and the bus had both been recovered.

When PUNCH Metro visited the hospital where Dupe was receiving treatment on Monday, the woman, who could hardly speak. She said the cause of the fight was a sum of N2000 which Lucky claimed she stole.

She said:

“We got married and started living together around October 2013. We usually had quarrels and that was not the first time he would beat me up, and send me out of the house. But this incident started on Sunday, October 26. Lucky had initially kept N15,000 with me.

“Then, on Sunday, he collected N5, 000 to repair the bus. Later I gave him the rest, only to realise it was N8, 000. So, he began to question where I kept the remaining N2000. But I knew that it was his nature to stir up trouble because he had a habit of keeping money with me and going again to take it.

“So, we began to fight, and he asked me to leave the house. He did not allow me to take the child with me that day. I was sleeping in friends’ places until Thursday when I decided to go back home. I did not find my baby, and when I asked him, he threatened that if he met me in the house by evening, he would kill me, kill the baby and himself.”

Dupe said she was then called by her mother to come to their family house in Mushin, adding that as she got on her way, and was at the Olorunshogo junction, a commercial bus swerved to her path and hit her several times.

She said:

“The commercial bus was his bus. He was the only man inside. He hit me and I fell. Then he reversed and came over my legs again. I lost consciousness. That was the last thing I knew.”

Our correspondent learnt from one of the nurses that Dupe might be admitted in the hospital for about two months and might spend over N600,000 for treatment owing to the severity of the attack.

One of Dupe’s relatives, Mr. Segun Akiode, told our correspondent that the family had yet to inform Dupe of her son’s death. He added that the family also did not know Lucky’s whereabouts.

He said:

“I was called on the phone on Thursday evening that my sister was knocked down at Olorunshogo junction. When I got there, I met her in a pool of blood. So, we rushed her to a hospital. It was already around 9.30pm.

“On Friday, when we went to their apartment, we found the baby boy, stabbed in the belly and already dead on the floor. We have not told Dupe about his death yet. So, we went to report at the Akinpelu Police Division, and we were asked to describe the bus which hit Dupe. When we did, they said the bus was with them in the station, but the whereabouts of Lucky were still unknown.”

When our correspondent got to the couple’s rented apartment in Kale Close, Mafoluku, it was learnt from neighbours that Lucky had not been seen at home since the day of incident.

At the Makinde Division, a police source told our correspondent that the suspect was one of the patrol van drivers, but he had not come to work since the day of the incident.

The source added that Lucky, who was believed to have also stabbed himself, was in an undisclosed hospital receiving treatment.

A fresh  attack has reportedly hit Yobe state.

Many were killed today November 3rd after a suicide bomber detonated a bomb targeted at members of the Shiite group, the Islamic Brotherhood of Nigeria, who were on procession at Faydia Islamic School located near the old market in Pokiskum, Yobe state.

Reports say the Muslim faithfuls were celebrating Ashura day, which is the new month of the Islamic Calendar, when the bomb went off.

The bomber was among the worshipers when the bomb went off.

Security operatives have since condoned off the scene of the

A barman, who works in a hotel located on Obokun Avenue, in the Ojodu area of Lagos, is battling with wounds he sustained during an ‘unprovoked’ attack by a customer.

According to reports by Punch, the alleged attacker, Kelvin Friday, a resident of Ojodu-Abiodun, Ogun State, allegedly stabbed the barman, who he accused of staring at him and his girlfriend.

It was gathered that Friday and his girlfriend, whose name had yet to be ascertained, had gone to
drink in the hotel around 6pm on October 21, when the incident happened. The victim, Simeon Tenebe, claimed he was brooding on an issue he had discussed with his sister earlier in the day when the 25-year-old man confronted him. He added that Friday interpreted his stare for rebuke and challenged him to a scuffle.

Friday reportedly smashed the bottle of beer he was drinking on the barman, inflicting injuries on his face and head. His girlfriend, it was learnt, fled the scene when Tenebe started bleeding. Prior to the incident, it was said that Friday had accused the barman of being unpleasant while attending to him and his girlfriend.

Tenebe reported the incident to the police, who arrested the suspect and charged him to an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for assault.

The prosecutor, Inspector Chinalu Uwadione, brought him before the Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Akinde, on one count of assault to which he pleaded not guilty.

The charge reads:

“That you, Kelvin Friday, 25, on October 21, 2014 at about 6pm at Obokun Avenue, Ojodu in the Ikeja Magisterial District unlawfully used a bottle on the head and face of one Simeon Tenebe and inflicted injuries, to wit grievous harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 243 (1) Vol. 44, No. 2 Law of Lagos State, 2011.”

Akinde admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

“The sureties must present evidence of tax payment, means of livelihood and deposit N20, 000 to the account of the chief registrar. Their addresses must also be verified by the prosecutor,” she added.
