Based on findings by certain journalists who visited the collapse building site at the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Lagos, allegations have been flying around that there's an intentional reason why the building collapsed.

It can be recalled that Nicholas Ibekwe, one of the journalists who visited the collapse site and subsequently turned down a gift money from Prophet T.B Joshua had openly criticized the Lagos State Governor, Raji Fashola, for having a closed door meeting with T.B Joshua without any journalist present.
Since then, allegations have been fired from all angles claiming that Fashola is conniving with TB Joshua and not holding him accountable thereby raising alarms that they are both hiding something.
In this regard, the Lagos State government yesterday held a press conference with the aim to explain their stance in the matter.
Mr. Aderemi Ibirogba, who is the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy alongside with the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Mr. Hakeem Bello, explained to the media that:
“We are all aware that the Federal Government has set up a committee, what we are saying is that in order for us not to pre-empt that committee and hold anyone responsible the best thing is for us to put this conference on hold. Agencies of government are working together so that at the end of the day we will have a comprehensive report. Before that is out, it will not be right for us to tell you the situation. We know that time is of essence here and I believe the committee will work within the shortest time possible. For all your questions and concerns, I believe the comprehensive report will be exhaustive”.
