PHOTOS: President Jonathan Honors Nigeria's Flag Designer, Puts Him On Lifetime Salary


The man who designed the flag of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi, has been honored by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

55 years after Pa Akinkunmi designed Nigeria's flag, he was today September 29th 2014, decorated as an Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic, OFR, by the president.

He was not just given an award, Jonathan also placed him on a lifetime salary and ordered him to be paid the same amount Senior Special Advisers earn.

The man who designed the Nigeria flag, Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi was decorated as an Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic, OFR, by President Jonathan today September 29th, 55 years after designing the flag.

What President Jonathan did is remarkable as no other president before him recognized Pa Akinkunmi with any honor or award.

Meanwhile, Jonathan also honored his cook, taxi driver and warden.

Usuah was honored for returning N18million a passenger forgot in his taxi. All three of them were given houses in the nation's capital, Abuja.
