Life, they say, begins at 40. But Vanessa Williams has upped the margin to 51 as she's engaged to her boyfriend Jim Skirp.

During a tapping of The Queen Latifah Show on Friday September 26, the Broadway and TV actress broke the news.
Queen Latifah joked:
"Vanessa, I have been trying to have a conversation ladies and gents, but I'm blinded by the light coming from that bling ring on your finger. Is there something that we need to know around here?"According to reports by Us Weekly, 51-year-old Williams then began to blush as she looked down at her dazzling new piece of jewelry and replied:
"Oh sorry darling. I got engaged. I have had a lot of good things happen. I turned 50 when we were in rehearsal on Broadway, I just got engaged a couple of weeks ago. It has been a lot of blessings on this trip."While she was still married to public relations consultant Ramon Hervey, the Desperate Housewives star bore a son Devin, 21, and two daughters Jillian, 25 and Melanie, 27.
She's also a mom to 14-year-old Sasha whom she bore with her second ex-husband and former NBA player Rick Fox.
Finding love again at 51 is a beautiful thing though I don't have an idea what the feeling is like. Congrats Vanessa. Anyone can fall in love regardless of age.
