54-year-old Kamla Devi is the brave woman from India who fought and killed a leopard with a her farming tools after it attacked her last Sunday on her way from the fields.

Kamla said the wild animal attacked her as she was walking home from her farm and she had only a sickle and a small spade to fight back. She said the brutal fight lasted about an hour before the injured leopard finally took off and died somewhere near her village, Koti Bodna, in Rudarprayag.
She then walked more than half-a-mile before finding help but the creature however injured her seriously with deep cuts and three fractures. She also lost a significant amount of blood by the time she was rushed to the hospital.
A villager said:
"While Kamla was on her way to the village, the leopard attacked her. She showed great courage by fighting the animal with a sickle and a small spade. The animal fled the spot after the struggle. We later found the leopard dead near the village."According to medical staff, she has had more than 100 stitches as a result of several tears and cuts on her head and legs from the leopard but admits she's in stable condition and would recover.

Ms. Devi, who is a widow said she still remembers the entire fight and didn't believe she would be that brave. She also suffered two fractures on her right hand and another severe one on her left arm.
