Earlier we reported about a 37-year-old man who was suspected of contracting the Ebola virus from his place of work in Liberia.
The man who was admitted at the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital on Sunday has tested negative, it has been announced.
Meanwhile, Joe Maila, who is the spokesperson of the health ministry and the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) earlier said on Monday that;
"The condition of the patient is stable. We are busy conducting further tests for other infections and continue with our appropriate management of the patient."He also urged the people of South Africa to remain calm as the government were on high alert to maintain vigilance for Ebola in the country.
"South Africans should rest assured that our surveillance is strengthened," he added.
