Sadly, It's True! Health Minister Confirms Doctor Has Died of Ebola In Port Harcourt

Few hours ago, I reported that a doctor in Port Harcourt allegedly died of the Ebola virus. You can read it here.

Nigeria's Health Minister Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu confirmed the news this morning

In confirmation to this, Nigeria's Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, has this morning told newsmen in Abuja that the doctor actually died on the 22nd of August after secretly treating an infected person who contracted the viral disease from late Liberian Patrick Sawyer, the man who brought the virus to Nigeria.

The Minister said:

“Following the report of this death by the doctor’s widow the next day, the case had been thoroughly investigated and laboratory analysis showed that this doctor died from EVD (Ebola Virus Disease).” 

This is however, a big blow to Nigeria after it was recently reported that the virus had been successfully contained in the country.
