It has been confirmed that Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, the doctor who contracted the Ebola virus from late Liberian Patrick Sawyer has reportedly passed away.
Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh died today |
She was a Senior Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist who happened to be one of the doctors who attended to Patrick Sawyer at First Consultant Hospital, Lagos.
It was recently rumoured that she had recovered from the disease but the Minister of Health moved on to say she wasn't the doctor who recovered from the deadly disease, stating that it was another doctor.
According to our sources, Dr. Ameyo died today afternoon at the isolation unit of the Mainland Hospital in Lagos where she was quarantined.
She was also the doctor who insisted Patrick Sawyer doesn't leave the First Consultant Hospital in Obalende, Lagos, when he wanted to leave after giving up. She decided to fight to the end to make sure she saved Sawyer's life but only to contract the virus and die today.
Her death is really heartbreaking and she obviously died a hero.
We recently made an update appealing to the U.S and other global bodies to come to her rescue but unfortunately, she couldn't make it.
Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh is survived by a son and her husband. May her sweet soul rest in peace. Amen. #Sad
