Smoking in public places was yesterday banned by the Lagos State Police Command and they have laid plans to enforce the law in full force.
The Police command in partnership with the British American Tobaco, BAT, set-up a 24 hours sensitization programme to teach senior officers how to understand and implement the law across the state.
A legal practitioner, Mr. Obafemi Agaba, who delivered a paper on how to understand the Lagos State Regulation of Smoking Law, said:
“Smokers have the right to smoke, just as non-smokers have a right not to be impacted by the smoke from the cigarettes in their personal space."
