MUST READ: 4 Things You Must Do To Keep Your Relationship / Marriage

The truth is, no matter how strong a relationship is, it has a breaking point. It is a natural thing that at the beginning, the love is always hot but as time goes on, you both begin to find faults.

How to avoid breakups and divorce

Arguments and fights sets in but what matters most is how well you deal with it and the efforts you both put to avoid those things that can lead to a possible breakup.

Below are a few tips that will guide and help you preserve your relationship/marriage.

Every relationship has its breaking point, which is a fact. If you are afraid that your relationship is on the verge of one, you need to read this article. Let's face it, we usually have a hard time when it comes to making compromises and we tend to value our privacy more than we do our partners. So this may be the right time for you to do a reality check, analyze the problem areas and find out the best method for dealing with 'certain issues'.

1). Communication:
Communication is extremely important. It plays a key role in keeping a relationship/marriage alive. When communication is less, the feelings begin to die. Also, communication has to do with the things you say to your partner. Try to find out the reason why you said what you said to them. Trace the root and deal with it appropriately. For example, you might use some extremely harsh words on your partner because you feel s/he is cheating. Now, what you do is, deal with the jealousy and the way you approach the issue will automatically be friendly. Handle your communication skills properly, it's the key that bonds you both.

2). Don't Make Accusations:
When you notice something is going wrong, don't just jump into accusations, no matter how obvious it might be. Instead, approach your partner calmly. Talk to him/her decently by telling them what you observed. Don't accuse or they will quickly jump into defense and that way, you will end up in an argument and yes, you just started a fight. If you're good at writing, I'd suggest you drop a note or an SMS. Allow s/he read it while you're away. Hovering over them at this point is not advisable. Just walk away and let them read it, that way, it'll sink inside their head and there will be room for remorse. When s/he is done reading, you both can engage in a decent talk. Tell him/her your concrete observation then join heads to find a solution together. Remember, don't make accusations.

3). Appreciate Your Partner Often:
Invest time in telling your partner how much you love him/her. Don't do this once, let this attitude become a part of you. You can compliment them on how they look, speak, smile, etc.. The thing is, your partner just needs to feel loved and appreciated. Your partner needs to know you appreciate him/her. Don't just sit back and assume they know about it, everyone likes to be reminded they're loved, it's a natural thing. Learn to appreciate.

4) Don’t Lie:
The truth here is that everyone lies because it's in our nature as humans to lie. If you disagree to this then you just told a lie, Lol. However, this is never an excuse for you to lie to your partner, God knows I won't be responsible for that. Now, let me tell you a fact you never knew, 'anytime you are caught in a lie, a little trust is taken away from you.' For a relationship to stay healthy and be successful, trust is certainly required. Try to be sincere. It's true that the truth hurts but it's better than comforting him/her with a lie. When you do something wrong, it's better you dance to the music instead of telling a lie to cover it up. Remember, don't lie.

ADDITIONAL TIP:
Don't try to solve a problem when you're angry/upset, you won't get it right. I understand that feeling you have when you're raged and it's like it's almost impossible to calm down but trust me, you can. Whenever you're angry, be kind enough to remember what this article says, 'Calm down before attempting to resolve a problem.' If you won't listen to me then answer this question, 'Have you ever really resolved an issue with your partner while you're yelling at each other?' Think about it my friend.
