A river located in eastern China’s Zhejiang province mysteriously turned red overnight. The river has been deemed clean enough that one can easily drink from it's water so it was shocking to see it change color overnight.
According to residents and officials of the area, the occurrence has never happened before and it was not caused by any industrial or chemical contamination.
According to a resident of the area, the river which is precisely located in Xinmeizhou village, Cangnan County was normal as at 4.am “but within the space of a few minutes, the water suddenly started turning darker and eventually was completely red.”

It is however reported by China Radio International that inspectors from Wenzhou Environmental Protection Bureau have collected samples of the water for analysis.
Some social media users have suggested while others have strongly claimed it was the beginning of The Apocalypse but officials have moved fast to rubbish such claims saying it was caused by sand distribution as based as a result of upstream flowing.
