According to my source, one of the Clinical Directors of First Consultant Hospital in Lagos (where the index case died), has reportedly died at home.

The man's wife had been hiding him from authorities until he died in their residence in Lagos. But before then, she took him secretly to different hospitals in search of a cure and this act has increased the potential number of infected persons to an alarming figure.

The late victim's wife has tested positive to the virus and is currently being quarantined.

Meanwhile, this will prove a difficult task for the federal government to contain as it will be hard to trace the persons the late victim had made contacts with before he died.

Ebola: Police Raid Lagos Hotels, 39 Foreigners Arrested

Officers of the Nigeria Police in Lagos State along with Nigerian Immigration Service arrested 39 foreign personnel in a hotel and a guest house over Ebola scare.

Among the 39 foreigners who were arrested on Lagos Island by police officers from the Area A Command, Lion Building, Ikoyi , it is reported that 35 are from Democratic Republic of Congo while the other 4 are from Senegal.

They were said to be co-habiting in a hotel known as Benin Hotel and another guest house both situated on Atere street, Lagos Island.

The police decided to storm the hotels with Immigration officers that would check if the foreigners are legally residing in the country while health officials would confirm if they have the Ebola virus or not.

According to a spokesperson, the raid of the hotels was carried out after residents of the area alerted the police of some movements by the foreigners in the area of which they became more worried when they discovered the foreigners were from Ebola plagued countries.

The police subsequently placed all hotels in the area under surveillance and urged residents to quickly alert the police should they continue to notice suspicious persons in the environment.

Christ Embassy Members Split Over Oyakhilome's Divorce

Looks like members of Chris Oyakhilome's Christ Embassy church are divided over his split from his wife Anita.

Anita Oyakhilome filed for divorce a few months ago on the grounds of 'unreasonable behaviour' and 'adultery'. On a Facebook page called 'Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome,’ some members are putting their pastors and church on blast...

Yesterday, one member wrote

"I am a Christ Embassy member. I hate one thing there: How can a pastor be working together with a lady hand in hand, attending meetings and lodging in a hotel for days. My girlfriend travels with our branch pastor annually for PPCF which holds in Lagos. Only God knows.” 

Another one wrote;

"Pastor Chris Oyakhilome must have been discovered compromising his marital bed business. It is what it is. God says judgement will start from His house. ‘Touch not my anointed’ is God’s instruction regarding all His children, not an individual nicking, scheming, threatening monies off people’s purses and telling them that salvation is tied to tithes and that seed sowing is only money donation to the church/pastor’s coffers. One down, more to roll. Christ be praised.” 

Another member of the page wrote

" I and my family left Christ Embassy for our own good after worshiping there for three years plus and seeing all the things going on under the disguise of church. And I can comfortably say that for over a year now, we have had so much peace in our Christian lives. I don’t care how you view my comment but truth must be told.” 

Joseph Osagiede, however, responded saying the Oyakhilomes were still together. He said,

“I have been in Christ Embassy for 12 years. All is totally well with thier marriage. All those wishing them to split and also those going about saying nasty things about the church, be careful.” Faith Ebunoluwa Adetayo also said, “I have been in Christ Embassy since 1990s and I can authoritatively say some things: I have seen the power of God work, demonstrated in healings and many other things. I have seen how that Pastor Chris is less concerned about mistakes we make. “He believes that these sins of the flesh will disappear, only if we listen to the word of God. Rather than condemning us, he speaks words of encouragement. And for your information, Pastor Anita is still very much in the ministry and she’s with her darling husband.”

Meanwhile, the Christ Embassy has kept mum on the divorce case.

A woman, who picked Punch’s call to the Nigerian office of the church on Saturday, said she had no information to give on the matter. When asked to confirm if the divorce suit was true or not, she simply said, “I have no information to give on the matter.”

When another call was made to the church thorough another number, the respondent, who identified herself as Pastor Christabel, said the church had no information about the case. “No, we have no information on the matter,” she said. [Source: Punch]

Late Dr. Enemuo's wife had been quarantined in Lagos after she tested positive to the virus and she also has a 3-month-old baby who has also been infected.

According to reports, Olu-Ibukun Koye may face charges for manslaughter.

A woman and 6 of her friends were yesterday arrested in Bayelsa State after they stripped a 23-year-old girl naked.

The street of Okaka road in Yenagoa, the state capital, witnessed a scary show when a housewife caught her husband cheating with an unidentified girl.

Revealed: How Mr Olu Koye Took Ebola To Port Harcourt

Dr. Samson Parker, who is the Rivers State Commissioner for Health, has narrated how the deadly Ebola virus managed to escape to Port Harcourt.

The commissioner revealed in a press conference which held yesterday evening in Port Harcourt that late Dr. Samuel Enemou, who was secretly treating Mr. Olu Koye, a Nigerian diplomat with the Economic Community of West African States, knew that the latter had the virus before flying down to Port Harcourt.

“Olu Koye had received the late Dr. Patrick Sawyer in Lagos. Upon developing the symptom, he confided in a female colleague, called Lilian, who contacted the late Dr. Samuel Enemuo. It was after contact was established with Dr. Enemuo that Olu Koye flew to Port Harcourt to see him. 

“To conceal his movement, Koye, who had been quarantined among other people for
having primary contact with the late Dr. Sawyer, the Liberian-American who transmuted the Ebola virus into Nigeria, sneaked out of the isolation unit where he was being observed and took a flight to Port Harcourt and switched off his phone so that he could not be reached or traced should he answer a call.”

According to the commissioner, when Koye arrived at the Port Harcourt airport, he checked into a hotel called Mandate Gardens in Rumunokoro area in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area. The hotel is located in the same area where late Dr. Enemuo's Sam Steel clinic is situated.

“From what we have gathered so far, Dr. Enemuo, knowing that Koye was positive of the Ebola virus took some measures of precaution to protect himself while treating Koye.

“Knowing the enormity of what he was doing, Enemuo upon Koye’s departure for Lagos, poured bleach all over the room that Koye slept in order to sanitise the place.

He further explained that after Koye departed, Dr. Enemuo fell sick and and decided to contact one of his doctor friends at Good Heart Hospital along Evo Road in G.R.A, telling him it was just a fever.

“He lied. He did not tell the doctor that was treating him his full story. But the doctor, a nice and conscientious professional, suspected that Enemuo was either hiding something or was suffering from a strange ailment because he proved negative to malaria, fever and typhoid fever.

 “To be sure of what he was doing, he spoke to other very experienced doctors about the strange case he was handling in his hospital.”

The commissioner added that when the doctor contacted other of his medical colleagues to assist him in analyzing Dr. Enemuo's medical history, they all declined the invitation out of fear of Ebola. That was how Enemuo's condition kept deteriorating until he died and his body was subsequently deposited at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.

Woman Gives Birth To Quintuplets At Nnewi

A 32-year-old Mrs. Ezeudenyi has given birth to quintuplets in Nnewi South LGA of Anambra State but sadly, one died, leaving her with two males, two females.

The woman, who hails from Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra state, was having a mixed feeling of the successful delivery of her four babies that survived and the prospect of raising them.

However, God immediately answered her prayers when a well known business man and philanthropist of the state, Chief Louis Carter Izuchukwu Onwugbenu’s (Okpata Ozuo Ora Nnewi) visited the hospital.

Chief Onwugbenu, who is popularly known as 'Louis Carter,' was celebrating his 61st birthday in his residence with friends, relatives and his children when news of the uncommon birth reached him.

He immediately excused his friends and rushed down to the hospital where he joyously awarded the babies with scholarship to university level, either within or outside the country.

The Chief said the poor mother's financial condition and the pity he felt for the new babies compelled him to take up their education bills adding that their birth date which collided with his also moved him.

He however, did not stop his generosity there as he equally extended it to three parents who were earlier discharged from the hospital but couldn't leave because they failed to pay their bills which summed up to about N400,000 - he cleared the bills as well.

Son Kills Father With Double-Barrel Gun, Buries His Body In A Shallow Grave In Enugu

A young man said to be a member of a kidnap gang operating in Enugu State, Mr. Chukwuekezie Ofonago has shot his father dead.

According to Vanguard, the suspect now in police net admitted to have shot his father, Mr. George Ofonago with a double-barrel gun at a hideout where he was kept while demanding an undisclosed sum as ransom from his family.

The incident occurred at Abor village  Enugu Inyi Community, Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, operatives of the Homicide Section of the State Criminal and Investigations Department (SCID) of the state police command have already commenced full scale investigations into the incident.

He said that the deceased had suddenly disappeared from his home prompting his family members to raise an alarm.

The son was fingered to have been involved in his father’s disappearance in the course of the search.

“Following the sudden disappearance of the deceased, information got to the security operatives about the involvement of the son whom his family suspected reasonably to have played a suspicious role,” he said.

While the kidnappers continued to demand for ransom from their hideout, the son of the deceased was tracked down by the police.

He gave an insight on how he abducted the father and took him to where he allegedly shot him dead with a single barrel gun and buried him in a shallow grave.

Chukwuekezie confessed that it was not his wish to  shoot the father but that he was under pressure from the father who had instructed him to shoot him to death.

In another development, one Uchenna Francis Nwozor who specialized in threatening members of the public with kidnap and demanding ransom within Oji River and its environs, has been arrested.

The suspect believed to have participated in kidnapping some persons in the past, according to the police spokesman, is now helping the operatives of the Anti Kidnap Unit in their investigations.

He had allegedly threatened to kidnap someone on phone if he fails to pay the sum of N5 million but he was later arrested by the police in Awka before he could execute his plan.

EXCLUSIVE: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's Wife Files For Divorce Over Adultery

The dissolution of the marriage between Christ Embassy Church founder, Pastor Christian Oyakhilome, and his wife, Rev. Anita Odegwa Oyakhilome, has entered the final phase, TheCable can report.

The wife is seeking divorce on the grounds of “unreasonable behaviour” and “adultery”.

She outlined several allegations against the pastor which TheCable cannot publish for legal reasons.

The divorce case, with Suit No FD14D01650, was filed on April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK, on Anita’s behalf by Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors, a full-service law firm with expertise in commercial law and a strong consumer focus in family, wills and estate, personal injury law and medical negligence.

Efforts to reconcile the popular couple, whose church is one of the biggest denominations in Nigeria and has branches all over world, have failed.

They have two teenage daughters, Sharon and Charlyn.

Oyakhilome is the president of Believers’ Love World Inc, the registered name of the Christian ministry, while his wife is the vice-president.

The pastor, according to an elder of the church, has denied allegations of adultery and believes his wife is being influenced by “bad friends” who are intent on destroying their home.

While Anita believes she has been relegated in the scheme of things in the church, her husband has reportedly accused her of trying to usurp power and authority above her seniors in the ministry.

According to sources who spoke to TheCable, the pastor had been making efforts to avoid divorce in the hope that the wife would eventually have a change of mind.

However, TheCable also reports that the decree nissi was served on the charismatic pastor in his hotel room during a recent visit to the UK.

Decree nissi, in legal terms, is like a yellow card in a football match which is a precursor to a red card (“decree absolute”) if no new evidence is provided to stall proceedings.

Church insiders said Oyakhilome had been hoping for rapprochement, but he was left with no option than to receive the papers when the lawyers cornered him at his hotel in London.

The decree absolute, which will effectively end the marriage, is expected to be issued soon while terms of the divorce will be worked out by the lawyers on both sides.

TheCable learnt Anita recently wanted to go public with the details of her allegations against the husband but reached an informal agreement to sheathe her sword in the interest of the church.

Oyakhilome is regarded as one of the richest and most influential pastors in Nigeria, and co-authors the fast-selling Christian daily devotional, Rhapsody of Realities, with the wife.

However, following the strain in the marriage, the wife had been complaining to friends that her husband had stopped the payment of royalties due her from the devotional.

“She complained of being deliberately starved of funds, perhaps to bring her to her knees in the belief that she would eventually return to her matrimonial home and mend things,” a church member  told TheCable in the UK.

A wealthy Zimbabwean businessman, who is into telecoms, is one of the biggest financiers of the London branch of the church which Anita pastors along with other branches in Europe.

When the crisis got to a head, the Zimbabwean stopped funding the church ─ some said in solidarity with Oyakhilome, his close friend and neighbour in Johannesburg, South Africa.

However, Oyakhilome was said to have been shocked when the wife announced at a fundraiser that she was sowing a “seed” (donation) of $1 million ─ despite her assumed lack of access to funds.

Matters got to a head on Sunday, July 13, 2014, when some relatives of Anita locked up the London branch of the church to protest against the “humiliation” being meted out to their sister ─ who had not overseen services at the branch since November 2013.

Some church members had sometime in May 10, 2014 launched facebook campaign, asking: “Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome?”

They said Pastor Chris and Rev. Anita must unite “for the sake of the gospel, the church and their two beautiful daughters”.

They quoted Malachi 2:16 in the Message Bible: “I hate divorce, says the God of Israel.”

The facebook page, which has over 3,300 “likes”, was opened with a stated mission: “This is a Call to Prayer for all believers who understand God’s heart concerning marriage and a Call to Action by Pst. Chris. #DoWhatYouPreach”.

Officials of the church quickly moved to deny any rift between the pastor couple. One official, Kenneth Achumasara, told the media last June:

“I can tell you authoritatively that there is no issue between Pastor Chris and his wife, Anita… If you go to the UK now you will see her along with the kids. She is still with him and there is no issue between them. I have been with him for 22 years and the Pastor Chris I know cannot even utter such words as reported. He will never address such a gathering. She will soon be in Nigeria for a programme and I will definitely invite you to have access to her.” [Source: The Cable]

3 Hotel Attendants Arrested For Videoing Customer's Sexual Escapade

Three hotel attendants have been arrested for allegedly recording a customer's sexual affair and demanding a N10million ransom.

The accused, who were identified as Rita Emmanuel (28), Sunday Okon (23) and Goodness Akpan (24), had used the hotel's CCTV to record the guest's sexual affair with his girlfriend.

They are facing a four-count charge of fraud, conspiracy and indecent practices, demanding property with menace.

Uche Simon, who stood in as the prosecutor, told the court that the accused persons had once conspired to record a guest while he was sleeping with his girlfriend on August 13.

Simon also said that they went as far as producing a DVD on it which they sold to residents of the area while he added that they demanded a N10million naira ransom and threatened to publicize it on facebook if the man refused to provide the money.

“The accused actually posted it on the facebook between August 13 and 23.’’

Simon said the offences contravened Sections 136, 166 (d), 299 and 409 of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011 which may see the accused, if found guilty, sentenced to a minimum of three years each on conviction.

However, the three men pleaded not guilty and the court granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 each.

According to NAN, the three hotel attendants were moved to Kirikiri Prisons where they will be released upon the fulfillment of their bail condition.

Nigeria's Health Minister Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu confirmed the news this morning

In confirmation to this, Nigeria's Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, has this morning told newsmen in Abuja that the doctor actually died on the 22nd of August after secretly treating an infected person who contracted the viral disease from late Liberian Patrick Sawyer, the man who brought the virus to Nigeria.

The Minister said:

“Following the report of this death by the doctor’s widow the next day, the case had been thoroughly investigated and laboratory analysis showed that this doctor died from EVD (Ebola Virus Disease).” 

This is however, a big blow to Nigeria after it was recently reported that the virus had been successfully contained in the country.

As a result of the incident, 70 people have been quarantined as a result of this and the doctor's hospital, Good Heart Hospital in Rivers State, has been shut down.

Beyonce and Jay-Z, one of the most talked about celebrity relationship. Everyone just wants to know what's going on between them.

Well, after they attended the recently held VMAs on Sunday night, The NY Post hired a body language expert to analyze their body language during the award ceremony, following rumours that the pair are just pretending to be happy together.

Below is what Susan Constantine, a body language expert who works with a court in Florida came up with:

Beyoncé’s face“She’s giving a false smile,” Constantine says. If she were really happy, her eyebrows would be lifted and her eyes would be more open.

Jay Z’s face“This is what we call a flat face,” Constantine says. “There’s no expression whatsoever.”
Happiness would be indicated by upturned corners of the mouth. But he’s less strained than Beyoncé.

Their Eyes“Neither one of them is looking at each other,” says body language expert Susan Constantine. “Their interest is more in their daughter.”

Beyoncé’s hand over midsectionShe’s blocking her stomach area — the home of emotions in the body — indicating a feeling of vulnerability. Were she feeling comfortable, she’d expose her midsection.

Beyoncé’s hipHer hips are angled away from her husband, indicating disassociation. “In other [older] photos, you see Beyoncé leaning into her husband,” Constantine says.

Blue IvyHer hands are clasped in a prayer-like way. Happiness would be indicated by raised arms and an extended body. Instead, she’s making herself small. “Maybe she’s praying her parents get back together,” Constantine says.

Bravery: Women Has Over 100 Stitches After Killing Leopard With A Spade

54-year-old Kamla Devi is the brave woman from India who fought and killed a leopard with a her farming tools after it attacked her last Sunday on her way from the fields.

Kamla said the wild animal attacked her as she was walking home from her farm and she had only a sickle and a small spade to fight back. She said the brutal fight lasted about an hour before the injured leopard finally took off and died somewhere near her village, Koti Bodna, in Rudarprayag.

She then walked more than half-a-mile before finding help but the creature however injured her seriously with deep cuts and three fractures. She also lost a significant amount of blood by the time she was rushed to the hospital.

A villager said:

"While Kamla was on her way to the village, the leopard attacked her. She showed great courage by fighting the animal with a sickle and a small spade. The animal fled the spot after the struggle. We later found the leopard dead near the village."

According to medical staff, she has had more than 100 stitches as a result of several tears and cuts on her head and legs from the leopard but admits she's in stable condition and would recover.

Ms. Devi, who is a widow said she still remembers the entire fight and didn't believe she would be that brave. She also suffered two fractures on her right hand and another severe one on her left arm.

BREAKING: Nigeria Successfully Blocks Ebola, Has 'One' Case Left — Minister

Nigeria's Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, has announced that Nigeria has successfully blocked the Ebola virus by reducing its total cases in the country to one.

In a press conference which held today, the Minister said, as at today, Tuesday 26th 2014, there's only one Ebola patient currently isolated in Nigeria. The figure has been reduced from the thirteen cases that were recorded of which seven survived while five unfortunately died.

He added that all 129 people who were placed under surveillance have completed the 21-day observation period and only one person was suspected of having the virus who is currently being observed.

The deadly virus was brought into the country 38 days ago by late Liberian Patrick Sawyer who later died.

Meanwhile, late Doctor Ameyo's sister who was earlier rumoured of having the virus has been cleared. Her family also denied such reports saying she's healthy and without the disease.

Enugu State Deputy Governor Impeached

The State House of Assembly in Enugu State have impeached their Deputy Governor, Mr. Sunday Oyebuchi.

This happened today after the House agreed to the decision of the 7-man panel set up by Justice Innocent Umezulike, the state Chief Judge.

Meanwhile, details behind the impeachment remain unclear but it is believed that Governor Sullivan Chime masterminded his removal.

Mr. Onyebuchi had been accused of disobeying Governor Chime and also running a poultry at his residence of which such charges, under the law, does not in any way qualify as impeachment offences.

However, Mr. Onyebuchi told the panel that Mr. Chime also runs a piggery at the government house.

Her name is Courtney Dike, she's an American-born Nigerian female soccer player. She played for Nigeria at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Canada.
