The deal which was the signing of the summer certainly was a shocker as the Colombian goal machine was earlier linked with Real Madrid, Arsenal, Juventus and Manchester United's city rivals Manchester City.
However, United made a swift move to land the football assassin making him the first Colombian to graze the famous red shirt.

Manager Luis van Gaal had this to say:
“I am delighted Radamel has joined us on loan this season. He is one of the most prolific goalscorers in the game. His appearance-to-goal ratio speaks for itself and, when a player of this calibre becomes available, it is an opportunity not to be missed.”
Meanwhile, United sold Danny Welbeck in order to pave way for Falcao. Welbeck signed a long-term deal with Arsenal in an undisclosed fee.
