The pregnant Sudanese woman, Meriam Ibrahim, who was jailed for converting and marrying an American Christian has finally returned to the United States with her American-citizen husband, Daniel Wani, and new baby Maya.


Meriam who endured a 10-month nightmare for switching religion was given a warm welcome by family and friends at the Manchester airport, New Hampshire, were she landed with her family.

She gave birth to her baby Maya (pictured above with her) while she was held in Sudanese prison.

Her husband spoke to reporters in tears of joy as he said they intend to settle down and start afresh.
